Summary of Benefits and Coverage
The Summary of Benefits and Coverage (SBC) is a document that all insurance companies are required to provide consumers as a result of health care reform. It is a standardized summary of health plan benefits and coverage, including covered benefits, cost sharing examples, and coverage limitations and exceptions. The purpose of the SBC is to help you understand similar features of each plan, make it easier to compare your options, and ultimately, choose a plan that is right for you or your family.

Below you’ll find a list of common terms that insurance companies are required to share for comparison purposes. These terms and definitions may be different from the terms and definitions used in your policy or contract. In the event there is a conflict between the Uniform Glossary of Terms and your Florida Blue policy or contract, the terms and conditions of the Florida Blue coverage documents will prevail.
