Medicaid redetermination is the regular eligibility review that each state’s Medicaid agency conducts to determine whether beneficiaries still qualify for Medicaid or Children’s Health Insurance Plan (CHIP) coverage. The Families First Coronavirus Response Act that protected families from disenrollment ended on April 1, 2023.
During redetermination, you may need to provide updated information. If you no longer qualify for Medicaid based on current eligibility requirements, you may lose your Medicaid coverage. You still have options if you lose your Medicaid coverage. A Florida Blue agent can walk you through affordable health plan options and see if you’re eligible for financial help.
If you have lost or are losing your Medicaid coverage soon, you can still enroll in a health plan through the Marketplace. Those eligible will then have 60 days after they submit their application to select a Marketplace plan.
Florida Blue offers a range of affordable health plan options with monthly payments as low as $0,1 if you qualify. A dedicated Florida Blue agent can take you through your options, explain how the Health Insurance Marketplace differs from Medicaid, and help you find a plan to fit your needs and budget.
