Tips to Help Shop for a Plan
Finding the Right Plan Doesn't Have to be Hard
Help finding the right plan
Looking at Affordable Care Act (ACA) Marketplace plans on healthcare.gov can be overwhelming. Consider getting advice from an agent licensed by the state—they’re bound by law to be honest and trustworthy. Many also speak Spanish and Creole.
Coverage for preexisting conditions
Even if you have a medical condition, you can still get a Marketplace plan. These plans won’t cost you more and do not have coverage limitations either. Many plans even offer special services and support for managing conditions like diabetes, high blood pressure and heart disease.
Plans include different doctors and hospitals
Make sure any doctors, pharmacies and other facilities you use will take the insurance plan you are considering.
Find all your options in one place
You can view all the companies and their products that are available in your area by visiting the Marketplace (healthcare.gov).
There's a limited time to sign up
Every fall, people can enroll in a health insurance plan for the next calendar year. But there are certain life events, like moving, getting married, having a baby or losing other health coverage, that may make you eligible to enroll throughout the year.
