Florida Blue expands access to comprehensive primary care in Southwest Florida with new clinic openings

Building on its commitment to improving health and well-being, Florida Blue, the state’s leading health insurance provider, and Sanitas Medical Centers (Sanitas) have brought six new primary care health centers into the Naples – Fort Myers area. These locations offer convenient, comprehensive, and highly personalized care with multiple primary-care services all in one place.

The new Collier, Lee, and Sarasota County locations are part of a larger expansion effort for the Florida Blue | Sanitas Medical Centers. The region faces significant health care and economic challenges, with more than 181,000 uninured residents in this region (CMS) and 700,000 living paycheck to paycheck (United Way ALICE report). 

The Florida Blue–Sanitas collaboration has grown significantly, with Sanitas providing whole-person primary care services to Florida Blue members since 2015. Ten new locations opened earlier this year in Jacksonville, Ocala, Sarasota, and the Fort Myers – Naples area, including:

Empowering Well-Being

Florida Blue | Sanitas Medical Centers exclusively serve members of Florida Blue commercial insurance plans who obtain coverage either through an individual plan or through their employer. Members have fast access to comprehensive primary care, diagnostic testing, common lab tests, plus the option to choose in-person or 24/7 virtual visits. At the clinics, there are specialized care programs for nutrition, mental well-being, diabetes, as well as help managing ongoing health concerns. In addition, Sanitas care teams are available to provide social support and connections to community services.

Services are tailored to meet patient needs, which often extend beyond traditional primary care. Sanitas care teams are led by a primary care doctor. Together with nurses and other health care professionals, these teams work with each patient and coordinates with other providers to support prevention and chronic condition management,  saving patients time and money.
