Weatherford currently serves as managing partner of Weatherford Capital, a family-owned investment management firm focused on technology, finance, and business and consumer services. Weatherford also serves as chairman of the University of South Florida’s board of trustees aimed as positioning USF as one of the top public research universities in the country.
As a strong advocate for Florida’s business and academic communities, Weatherford serves on several additional boards, including Dream Finders Homes (NYSE:DFH), Kitson & Partners, PayIt, Utility, Inc., The Florida Council of 100, and The National Council for the American Enterprise Institute. Weatherford also recently served as co-chairman of Super Bowl LV Host Committee in Tampa Bay.

Prior to Weatherford Capital, Weatherford made history when he was sworn in as the 84th speaker of the Florida House of Representatives in 2012, becoming the youngest presiding officer of any state legislative chamber in the U.S. at the time. Weatherford served in the Florida Legislature from 2006 – 2014 and used his position as speaker to advocate for social mobility through free enterprise and education reform. He made tackling generational poverty a focus of his tenure.
