Florida Blue Expands Primary Care Access in Northeast Florida with Addition of Two New Florida Blue | Sanitas Medical Centers

Florida Blue, the leading health insurer in the state, is deepening its investment and commitment to the health and well-being of Jacksonville area residents, unveiling plans today to help open two new primary care medical centers that will bring high-quality, patient-centered care to thousands across Northeast Florida. 

Construction is now underway on two new Florida Blue | Sanitas Medical Centers in Duval County in response to the area’s growing need for accessible, affordable health care. The first Florida Blue | Sanitas Medical Center in Jacksonville opened in January 2024 on Atlantic Boulevard in the Regency area and is supporting and accepting patients 50 and older. The two new centers will serve patients of all ages and are set to open in January 2025 in Duclay, at 8102 Blanding Boulevard, and in Windy Hill, at 11160 Beach Boulevard.

Florida Blue members with an individual plan or coverage through their employer will be able to see care teams at these new locations starting Jan.1, 2025. Florida Blue | Sanitas Medical Centers offer primary care, mental well-being support, common labs, social support, connections to community support programs, and the option to choose in-person or 24/7 virtual visits. In addition to the two locations in Jacksonville, eight more (a total of 10) will open in 2025 across the state, and several locations will feature new, innovative care models.

Florida Blue brought the first of these medical centers to Florida in 2015 through a joint venture with the Sanitas parent company, Keralty, a leading global health care organization. Launched in South Florida and now throughout the state, there are 56 locations caring for approximately half a million Florida Blue members.
